2014 JCDC Culinary Festival

JCDC CULINARY FESTIVAL 2014 WIN
ENDORSES MARK CLARK’S UNIQUE DESSERTS
Kingston: The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport announced the results from the Dutchie Culninary Festival, held on Sunday, August 5th 2014 at the National Arena.
It was a unique entry of Jackfruit pudding served with Tamarind butterscotch sauce which confirmed for Mark Clarke of ‘Markspuddinpan’, that in the area of unique desserts, he was indeed a power to be reckoned with. Encouraged by a friend who was impressed by his creative talents with desserts to enter the competition, it took some persuading, but on her insistence, an application was submitted, and as is said, ‘the rest is history’.
When his name was called out as 2nd prize winner, confidence in his baking talents received the official stamp of approval, as Mark received his award from JCDC Commissioner, Audrey Johnson.
A Public-sector Manager by profession, Mark says that the whole matter of baking, came to him in a dream in 2009, when he was planning an annual summer trip. It was another friend who was on that trip, who gave his budding business idea the name, ‘Markspuddinpan’, as commendations were heaped on him for the Cranberry cornmeal pudding he had baked for the trip.
Over the ensuing years, Markspuddinpan continues to win many clients for his beautifully decorated deserts distinguished by their unique and creative ingredients and favoured as a truly unforgettably rich and deliciously tasty treat!
END.
